Penalties	Possession of up to 2.5 oz is legal. Over 2.5 oz is a civil violation or criminal offense depending on amount.
Tax Info	Recreational: 10% state excise tax plus 5.5% state sales tax. Medical: exempt from excise tax.

How to Get a Card

Patients need a physician certification and register with the Maine Department of Administrative and Financial Services. Cards are valid for 1 year.
