Cannabis in Missouri
Missouri's Amendment 3, passed in November 2022, was notable for including automatic expungement of past cannabis convictions — a first for any state to include this in the legalization measure itself. Recreational sales began on February 3, 2023, with the transition from medical-only to dual-use being relatively smooth.
Missouri has a large network of dispensaries spread across the state, with concentrations in the St. Louis and Kansas City metro areas. The state's generous 3 oz purchase limit is one of the highest in the country.
