Medical Cannabis in Utah
Utah's path to medical cannabis was contentious. Proposition 2 passed with 53% of the vote in November 2018, but the legislature convened a special session to replace it with the Utah Medical Cannabis Act — a more restrictive version. The modified program uses a pharmacy model rather than traditional dispensaries, with 15 licensed medical cannabis pharmacies across the state.
