I've been coming to Puff in Sturgis regularly for the past few years because of their fantastic staff and great rewards program. My experiences have been consistently five stars. I always come in on weekends and work with Sam, who does a great job and is knowledgeable about all the products offered. Unfortunately, my experience this past weekend was a real stinker. I attended my first 420 frenzy event this past Saturday, excited to spend the rewards I had saved up throughout the year after hitting Platinum Tier on my last visit. When I got there an hour after opening, there was a line around the building. I prepared myself for a long wait. Everyone was stocking up for Christmas. Other people I talked to were there to spend their rewards, too, before they reset at the beginning of the year. As I was making my way through the line, I overheard that I wouldn't be able to use my rewards with the 50% off. That didn't bother me because one of the brands I like was not part of the sale, and I thought I'd still be able to use my rewards. When it was finally my turn, I explained to my bud tender (not Sam) that I was there to spend my rewards before they reset. She explained to me that management had rolled out changes to how customers could redeem rewards just a few days prior. I would have had to spend $900 on a single transaction (before rewards) to redeem my $300 Platinum Tier reward (plus I had other rewards available too). If you are familiar with the limits on a single transaction, it's impossible to get $900 on one. When all was said and done, I spent almost 3 hours at the store and was only able to use a $25 reward, plus the cash I brought, to leave with less than a third of what I walked in to get. I am very disappointed in management for not communicating these changes. I am on Puff's email list, and all that it says is to expect improvements to their rewards program starting 1/1/26. Although I like the selection Puff offers and enjoy working with Sam, this experience has me seriously considering taking my future business elsewhere. It left a bad taste in my mouth.
