Cannabis in Minnesota
Minnesota's recreational cannabis law was a landmark moment for the Midwest. Governor Tim Walz signed HF 100 in May 2023, creating the Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) to regulate the new market. While possession and home growing became legal on August 1, 2023, licensed retail stores are still being rolled out as the OCM processes license applications.
Minnesota's law includes robust social equity provisions and allows for various license types including microbusinesses and cannabis events.
